Huahine Beach Resort is a planned 800 acre development on the island of Huahine in French Polynesia. The first resort of this magnitude on this exotic island, the Huahine Beach Resort as planned combines luxurious accommodations with unrivaled tranquility and natural attractions amidst the swaying palms of beautiful South Pacific Ocean. The community of 1800 hotel, spa, condominium, villas, rooms, and suites (with a healthy offering of "celebrity accommodations") is truly a one-of-a-kind experience in one of the most magnificent places on Earth.

The lack of culinary water or electricity, sewage treatment facilities, natural gas supplies and other essential utilities makes any kind of development in this part of the world a challenge. Maintaining the beauty of the natural surroundings and the integrity of the ecosystem are always at the top of the list when designing a facility such as this in such a delicate environment. MLD was invited to the challenge.

MLD was originally hired to provide just water amenities, attractions, and "show” experiences (the look & feel of the place). After demonstrating our abilities to integrate the facilities, including condo and hotel rooms, conference, casino, restaurants, and retail with the amenities, the owner increased MLD’s responsibilities to include replanning the entire development, totaling US$650M.
